Open Data In Neuroscience.

The community I help convene at MIT — symposia, workshops, and the standards work behind shared neurophysiology data.

ODIN (Open Data In Neuroscience) is an initiative I help organise out of the McGovern Institute at MIT, originally with DANDI, and from 2025 jointly with the Allen Institute for Neural Dynamics. ODIN convenes a community — experimentalists, theorists, infrastructure builders — around the standards, tools, and culture needed to share neurophysiology data across scales and modalities.

ODIN Symposium 2025 — Integrating Scales and Modalities

with the Allen Institute for Neural Dynamics

Theme: Integrating Scales and Modalities — the future of neurophysiology. Talks span large-scale recording technologies, shared data infrastructure (DANDI, NWB), and cross-modality analysis.

ODIN Workshop — June 2025

A working meeting on practices, tooling, and standards for open neurophysiology data — closer to the bench than the symposium.

Symposium · 2023 · MIT · McGovern Institute

Inaugural ODIN Symposium 2023

with DANDI

The first ODIN symposium — the meeting that started the community and led to the eNeuro review on advancements, solutions, and challenges in open neurophysiology data.
